birthday package
Jun. 28th, 2010 09:43 pmI finished my quilt! And i gave it to the girl, and she seems to like it. I guess she kept un-making her bed to look at pictures last night instead of sleeping. I think thats a win. (More pictures on flickr.)
I'm happy to have finished a project. I think the quilt came out pretty well. I like the block design on the front. I think the photos came out fine - not particularly my aesthetic, but, my fondest hope for this piece is that it becomes a valuable memory bank for a little girl as she grows up, something that reminds her that she has been loved. I need to work on my bindings - woah, that binding is not very good. It does seem warm and snuggly.
Her mom sent me a picture of her cuddled on the quilt at bedtime last night, and, honestly, i don't care what else ever happens with this quilt, because its worth it for that smile.
