twenty-ten
Jan. 4th, 2010 10:37 pmI amazed at how much i have been reading people saying 'good riddance 2009', or, 'yay for a shiny new year, has to be better than the last' sentiments.
I do not feel this way. For one thing, i long ago lost the habit of wishing away my life, and i now feel guilty when i have any thoughts that approach that behavior. For another, i don't think 2009 was a bad year. Sure, it had its ups and downs, but, its not as though it was something horrible that needed to be done away with. Its also not as though i would expect the changing of the year to have some sort of magical effect even if 2009 were particularly bad.
Ah well.
I never even thought of the changing of the decades, really, although it might be an interest exercise to go through eventually.
I do hope this coming year is a good one. It seems promising to me. I look forward to watching my kids grow, and watching myself grow (i hope).
I have a lot in my head right now, and a lot i wish to write, but not particularly the time to do it tonight. For now,
I wish you all a wonderful 2010.
