So, here are some things...
***********************
I made some comments last week about conserving gas, and about new technologies like hybrid vehicles. I wasn't trying to criticize anyone.
Its just that this is something i feel passionate, and able to comment about. I am passionate about it because i feel like the american auto industry is really fucked up, because i feel like our consumeristic attitudes do not bode well for the world, because there is some really cool engineering out there for efficient systems. I like to talk about it because i actually think i understand the situation, and the technology, well enough to have something important to say.
The thing is, i make my point, and i hope that people will listen to what i have to say. I also realize that everyone makes their own choices, and that you only do what you can. Some of us will make one decision, some of us another, some of us will be forced in one direction or another by circumstances outside of our control.
All of that is alright, but i hope that we are at least educated and thoughtful in the decisions that we can make. I hope that other people will call me if they think that i am not being thoughtful enough, or am ignoring some information in my own decisions.

Vancouver is interesting - i remembered this from last year, too - in that we go there and have a really luxurious time. But, there are a large number of homeless people in the areas we frequent. The juxtaposition of my most luxurious weekend, and their trials is humbling. It strikes me harder every time i see it.
hmmmm... i've been thinking about more lately, but i can't come with any of it to write right now.
