You know what makes me irrationally angry, and ready to pull someone off their bike to yell at them? When they ride past, carrying a helmet on their handle bars. Idiots.

You can probably imagine how hard it is for me to drive/walk around campus and see cyclists on the sidewalk without helmets. :(

It's an epidemic here. :(

Years ago, it was the rare cyclist that wasn't wearing a helmet. Now, at least in Ellensburg, easily 90% of them don't have helmets. The 10% who do are the ones who are on road bikes, wearing jerseys and ten kinds of spandex; obviously "pro".

Makes me wonder if it's some cultural split among cyclists? I dunno.

As someone who has fractured two helmets by their fortuitous intercalation between my head and the road, I simply can't imagine NOT wearing one.
