big) when i put my computer into hybernation, it doesn't appear to shutdown properly (eg., when it starts back up again i get the 'your computer shut down unexpectedly' messge. Is this normal?

Date: 2008-07-04 07:28 pm (UTC)2) On an explorer window (e.g. My Computer), if you have a menu bar, it's Tools -> Options -> View -> Hide extensions of known file types. On Vista the menu bar might be hidden by default, in which case there's a link on the left side of the window that gets you to the same dialog, but I can't remember off the top of my head what it is. (I'm on XP right now, could log into a Vista machine if needed.)
2a) I agree with you, hiding file extensions, especially by *default* is *stupid*.
