My
I guess the weekend really started on Thursday, when i picked my father's wife (Megan) up from the train station. She was on the continent for a few weeks, and decided to hit Seattle for a few days to meet up with us. I consider this to be generous on her part, and while it certainly added to the chaos this weekend, i think it was a pretty good thing.

On Friday night i took Megan to Golden Gardens where we ate fish and chips and walked along the beach. Then we had an early night, which we probably both needed. Conversation was mostly good. When Josh came home we painted a second coat of primer on the basement.

On Saturday we went to breakfast with Megan, and JOsh's parents, who were also in town this weekend. Breakfast at Minnies was well worth it. Sadly, C couldn't come due to a late night out in an ambulance.

Saturday afternoon was full, as Megan and I went to the U. Villiage for a short shopping trip, and got some fruit, and a cake, etc. Then i went to Heidi's wedding shower, which was pretty enjoyable. Our silly embarrassing ideas worked well - they were amusing, but didn't seem to overwhelm everyone. I enjoyed hanging out with people, and relished the conversation. Then I headed home and joined Josh and his parents for dinner at Rialto.

On Sunday, C came and took Megan to the train station early. Then i ran with Deb, and had a pretty good run (although my legs are sore today). Josh and i went to look at a coffee table his parents bought us, then to a ball game. By the time we got home, we were really beat. However, with the help of Brian and Caitlin we now have the texturing in our basement done, and have started painting. Soon, so soon, we'll be done!
was busy, but good. I can also tell stories about
My sister has gone through a few jobs in her life, and has been good at all of them. She is a good photographer, is loved by everyone who has ever had her office skills, is a successful web designer, and is now an ambulance driver. On Thursday, on my way to the train station, i missed the entrance and then got caught in the abyss of post-Mariner-game traffic (no right turns, huge waits). Since this resulted in me being late to pick up Megan, I called Caitlin, who was at work, and who neccessarily knows very well how to get everywhere in the Seattle metro area. After she directed me to the station, i got the thrill of seeing my sister in her uniform (she looks so professional).
I am mostly telling this story because i am so proud of my sister. To get to this point she has been tested a million times, academically, physically, and mentally. She has stuck it out because she has the honest desire to make a difference in the world. She is one of the most generous people i know, and it really shows in how she handles her day to day life. I know i couldn't do what she does, and i am thankful that someone is around that can. I aspire to do something so worthwhile some day.
So, in short, give a round of applause to my sister, even if you don't know her. She deserves it.
.
I was thinking about talking about my desire to be a spy, but i think i'll leave it till another day, as, at the moment, i need to be a software documenter.

Also, i am enjoying this album. I think we've had it for a while, but i just recently picked it up. Occasionally i hear some Pavement in the music, although it is generally more polished and melodic. In other news, Josh and i agreed yesterday that Clem Snide might currently be the best band on earth (with allowances for the Flaming Lips, and maybe Jurrassic 5, if we pay attention to the fact that the word 'Rock' isn't actually in our honorary title). At other times the Pixies, Fugazi, Jon Spencer, the Jesus Lizard, the Beatles, Led Zeppelin, the Flaming Lips, etc. etc. etc have been the best band on earth.
