i want to start a re-elect Carter campaign. Who's in?

I wish i could figure out a way to meet up with Deanna and Eli in DC this weekend, even though it is remarkably silly to do so, as we both have better things to do in DC than visit with people who live less than a mile away.

Recently I have been impressed with pretty much everything Carter has been doing. I agree with his actions more than I agree with even Gore or Lieberman's. On a basic level, he seems to be evaluating things with more integrity than your average politician.

Perhaps Carter is better as an elder statesman than as a president (there are legitimate reasons that this might be), but, i still like the idea.

Carter wins. In addition to being competent as a peacemaker and peanut farmer, he does the "elder statesman" thing pretty well.

Compare him to Bush for a second and he suddenly looks like a damn fine choice, though I realize that doesn't narrow it down much :-)
