I think i'd rather have a small amount of something good, in general. But its sometimes hard to remember that.
I think part of our society's consumer nature is an emphasis on having more more more. I've been thinking about this recently with food, actually. I have a tendency to get the LARGE, or the biggest size, when i buy things. But, i've noticed recently that the kiddy-sized cone at Ben and Jerry's is almost more satisfying than the large one. I still get the wonderful aspect of icecream, and i'm usually done right around when i still am savoring the taste.
I try to choose which things i acquire with an eye towards quality, longevity, and versatility. Not always really easy, but usually pretty danged rewarding when i do a good job.
