This morning it is raining. ( Currently raining and fifty in Seattle. Showers this afternoon, changing to rain in the evening.) Wheeeee.

I had a great long weekend:

On Friday i 'talked' to Laurel. It was great. Laurel is someone i wish i could talk to more regularly.

On Friday we went to dinner with Deanna and Eli. Even thought the service was slow, the food was alright, and i was happy to hang out. It was bordering on late when we were done, though, so we didn't do other cool stuff.

On Saturday i went running. I did some yard work, until it started raining. I built a new bookcase for the kitchen, and started cleaning up, and did lots of laundry. um... Oh, then we sat around and watched 'Spy Games' and built models. 'Spy Games was alright, and potentially better, if i had been paying better attention.

On Sunday we went bowling in the morning. (Yay bowling.) I suck at bowling, and did not break my current high score of 112. My leg was sore yesterday from it too. But, i liked it. Bowling at ten am is sort of interesting. The bowling alley was non-smoking and quiet. Plus, we go breakfast. Then we tried to make progress on all kinds of projects at home: cleaned the fridge, measured the basement, picked up more shelves for the basement (if we can clean it, we can start to remodel). Built more models, went out to dinner.

Yesterday i slept in. (yay. vacation days.) Then i went to a spa with Heidi. More on that soon. In the evening i paid bills, wrote a thank you letter, sent checks into my bank, requested a different pay rate on my student loans, and started trying to figure out how the hell to write a CV. I was suppose to finish that yesterday, but, what the hell.

The spa was really interesting. It appears to be run by some Korean women, and has an asian feel to it. It is women only. When you get there, you get naked right away. There is one room full of hot tubs, and a sauna. In this room you shower, and soak in the tubs (including some mineral tubs, and different temperature tubs). In this room the women walk around completely naked. Bathing suits are NOT allowed.

It is strangely empowering to be in a room of completely nake women. People are really unselfconcious. It is really a non-issue that everyone is naked. This is really liberating. And a cool thing. It is a peek at what the world probably should be.

I was keep an eye out for bodies, for a friend who would be shy to go if she thought everyone was thin and she wasn't. The thing is, no one had a perfect body. Most people at the spa had extra fat, or disproportionate limbs, or scars. But, everyone looked beautiful in their own way. Nakedness both bares peoples flaws, and makes them less important.

The other rooms in the spa were heated rooms, with different kinds of minerals in them. In these rooms you were this little cotton robe that was given to you upon entering the spa. Everyone was dressed the same. It was pretty comfortable.

They had a little restaraunt, with really quite yummy korean food in it. We ate a satisfying lunch there. (In our robed glory, of course.)

The spa also offered body scrubs and massages, but we didn't get a chance to get one of those. (You need an appointment.)

It should be a fun week. Book club tonight, bowling tomorrow...
