No rest for the wicked.
Feb. 25th, 2002 03:31 amI went home at about 5:30 am Sunday morning, having sent an email to my boss (henceforth called W, since boss is kind of taboo around here) with an update of my progress. He called me around eleven, so I can in by one to go over things with him. It is now 2:30 on Monday morning, and i'm still plugging away. Ack!!!
But, many nice things happened today:
1) I slept well for a few hours, and am surprisingly un-sleepy.
2) I got to take a shower with Josh.
3) W has still (for unknown reasons - i think he is nuts) not decided to fire me for my performance on this project.
4) I had to skip girls day out today, but i did get to go to dinner with them at Red Robin. Yay. It was a nice break, and good to see Colleen and Katie. I'm a big fan of dinner breaks on marathon work days. I got to go on one yesterday too, and it helped my moral quite a bit.
5) I found, and fixed, a few bugs in my program.
6) Josh, very sweetly, came and sat in my office while finishing his book. wheee... its so nice to have the company of someone you love. And its so nice that Josh would do that for me.
7) I am making progress, finally, on testing.
8) It was a nice day outside today.
9) I am making good enough progress, that i have hopes that tomorrow night and can hang out and paint my Orc. I can't wait.
10) My friends who pop up on Zephyr to say hello, and see how i am doing, really make my day. Its awfully nice to feel like someone out there cares.
11) Josh got to play Quest with his friends all day. It is good for him to have more time for himself, but also good that i'm terribly distracted while they're playing Quest.
(11A - One of my current relationship goals is to foster our independance. We need to find healthy ways to be selfish once in a while for the relationship to be healthy in the long term. Taking time to to go the gym helps me. Making sure Josh has time to play games uninterupted helps him.)
So, strangely, it hasn't been a horrible day.
Now, my goals:
1) Get good baseline run tests
2) Get as far as I can on the numerical evaluation.
3) Send something to LMCO for the beginning of their work day.
4) Go home and sleep for a couple of hours.
5) Get back to work for a couple of hours - see if LMCO has any problems.
6) Be home in time to work on my model.
