Apr. 29th, 2003 09:32 amThere was a bit on geocacheing on NPR this morning. I thought it was cool for the activity to gain some publicity.
They mentioned that geocacheing is outlawed in national parks (because it lends itself to leaving things behind, and walking off trails). Now i know why there are now Ranier caches. Got me thinking, though, about a non-material cache. Still haven't figured out how excatly to make it interesting, without encouragine off trail wandering. (The view at Sunrise, for example, should be reward enough. But the fragile alpine meadows mean one should stay on trails. If one is just following a trail, there isn't much need for a gps.)
I was reminded last night that i owe a progress report on my robotics project this Thursday. I'd sort of forgotten about that project entirely. ack! This is not going to be my best quarter.
Caitlin went to the gym with me last night, and told me about a new boy. =) Josh and i rode our bikes to Subway for dinner, and then played an hour or so of Diablo after i worked on my homework (i was stalled because the project was designed for VS 7.0, and wouldn't run on VS 6.0). Wheeee. Now thats a good night.
I've been thinking that acting with integrity and responsibility is something everyon should strive for. I do not think that this rules out following ones beliefs and living outside of societies norms. In fact, truly being responsible may include behaving in a manner despite what society dictates.
Had lunch with Zahra yesterday. Was nice. Eating lunch with other people is one of those things that makes me feel loved.
Cory is running the next rpg for our group. Looks like things will be really different than when Josh runs them. Cory has lots of ideas that he wants to try out. It could be sort of cool. Of course, i've decided that it is probably better for me not to play. Although, i'm curious, and don't want to be left out.
Things to do this week:
*robotics project / report
*Panorama code / artifact
*Quilt
*Meet w/ J about MCM
*pay bills
*fill out those damned insurance forms
*basement ceiling
*read papers
