Also, if i currently had a job that allowed for some cash and a bike commute, i would be buying these tonight.

* Okay, technically, i hadn't looked at the price at all. This is the advantage of dreaming. But on a serious note, all my biking rain gear was getting pretty worn out, and it will be replaced some day. I'd be excited to get neon yellow rain pants!

I was looking hard and longingly at some Showers Pass rain gear recently. I settled on a significantly cheaper clearance Canari cycling jacket, since my primary goal was visibility and not being soak-proof. I'm excitedly looking forward to it arriving tomorrow.

When the Viaje finally shows up (forever from now), I'm going to start thinking hard about picking up the Showers Pass stuff. An ex-co-worker who year-round commutes swears by the stuff.

I can't believe the cost!

Maybe REI can get in on the act and sell some at $50 instead. Currently their $50 pants are black.

How'd it go?

All rain pants are black. Its ridiculous.

And arm bands, gloves, and head bands, and waterproof socks. I just tack on extra lights in the winter, but bright clothing would not be a dumb idea. Of course, in slush, all clothes are brown.

Really well! It's this one in the "killer yellow" and it really is pretty blindingly bright, which is just what I wanted for riding in the overcast that is Pittsburgh winter (and at twilight). It fits well over a few layers of clothing and I'm quite warm with it and a light sweatshirt. I haven't tried it out in rain yet but I'm also not really eager to. I think my only (minor) complaint is that the "waist" on it comes down to about my hips (I have a short torso), and so it's a little small unless I pull it up some. Otherwise it's great, and comfortable, and I feel a lot better about being seen.
